Two nights of D&D for middle school & high school students

September 3rd & 4th

Back to School Knights: a program that’s taking the place of our D&D summer camp this year! It’s for middle school and high school students who are new to Dungeons and Dragons and those who have experience with D&D. There is an in person night in Northern Virginia, and a remote night available for everyone else! Each of the sessions will be 3 hours long. We will be playing a custom D&D game written for this age group, and learning more about this awesome game! Little to no experience required; experienced players will also have an engaging time helping others get familiar with the game while playing these custom adventures.

We will use Google Meet for the remote session, which will have unique digital maps, and a fully immersive digital gaming table. No software required, just a browser and internet connection (headphones are a good idea too). This session will take place on September 4th.

Our in person night will take place in Leesburg, VA at a local gaming shop, library, or community center. More details to follow. This session will take place on September 3rd.

Attendees will be grouped together by age in teams of 4 to 5. There will be a mix of new and experienced players in each group to ensure everyone has a great time.

Each session starts at 3pm and ends at 6pm (Eastern Time).

D&D is a fantastic way for adolescents to make new friends in a collaborative, problem solving, creative environment. Tabletop Knights is focused on writing and running D&D games that are based in fun and empathy - allowing for self expression in a safe environment. These games build confidence and social skills, reduce anxiety and insecurity, and teach cooperation. This is a great opportunity to connect with others through gaming, and learning how D&D can allow for healing, personal growth, and overcoming adversities.

Jesiah McCann, president and founder of Tabletop Knights, has been crafting and running D&D games for close to 20 years, and has worked in youth ministries throughout his life. His wife Kim, our board of directors, and volunteers have helped grow this non-profit since 2018. Our goal is to help people through games like D&D. You can find out more about our mission here.
